IAVM to host exquisite culinary event on Oct. 28

The Italian American Veterans Museum will host a celebration of Italian food and wine at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28 at the Des Plaines Theatre.

Dubbed “Perfect Pairings,” the event will feature a delectable four-course meal served up by Ron Onesti of Onesti Entertainment, complemented by five fabulous wines curated by Ed Badgett III, a veteran sommelier with extensive knowledge of the Italian market.

Our guests can look forward to the following menu:

Aperitivo

Antipasto
Truffle honey Parmigiano Reggiano, endive, radicchio and cannellini bean salad and oven-roasted tomato burrata crostini
Pairing: Nomalas Pinot Bianco delle Venezie

Primo Piatto
Burrata ravioli with fresh mint and lemon sauce
Pairing: Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva

Secondo Piatto
Braised short rib ravioli topped with vegetable soffritto and beef demi-glacé
Pairing: Masseria Li Veli Susumaniello

Dolci
