Museum welcomes Legion National Commander!

The 1st Division and 9th District of the American Legion had the privilege of hosting the National Commander Vincent J. “Jim” Troiola and Department (IL) Commander Lomac A. Payton at the Italian American Veterans Museum on May 19. American Legion officers and members from across the Chicago area were in attendance. The event was spearheaded by 9th District Commander and Museum Second Vice President Lorenzo Fiorentino. Commander Troiola, a first-generation Italian American, remarked, “My father would have loved your museum.” Fiorentino replied that he also was born in Italy, and that his father loved the museum, too. Kudos to Anthony Siciliano and Don Horn of American Legion Post 974, who treated the National Commander and all assembled to arancini, panini, pasta salad, Italian cold cuts, and homemade cannoli!
